About Us

Exterior view of the Elks Lodge building.

The Elks Lodge at 138 E. Maiden St. has been a cornerstone of Washington, PA for generations. Walk through the front doors and you feel it immediately: high ceilings, woodwork that tells a story, and a ballroom with the kind of character that modern event spaces simply cannot manufacture. This is a building that has hosted joy and grief and celebration with equal grace.

Coordinator Michelle and her team have earned a reputation that shows up in review after review. Guests praise not just the food and the space, but the way staff anticipate needs before they're spoken. When a guest arrived with a gluten-free requirement, the kitchen handled it without a second thought. When a family gathered to honor a loved one after a funeral, the staff wrapped the whole afternoon in warmth. That level of attentiveness is rare, and it is the real reason this lodge carries a 4.5-star rating across nearly 100 reviews.

The BPOE (Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks) has served American communities since 1868, and the Washington chapter carries that tradition forward with genuine local investment. Membership, community programs, and event hosting all flow from the same commitment: people first.

What We Offer

The ballroom is the crown jewel, spacious enough for a seated reception yet intimate enough that no guest feels lost in the room. Bridal showers, anniversary parties, corporate luncheons, memorial gatherings, and milestone birthday celebrations all find a natural home here. The staff works with you from the planning call through the final cleanup, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Catering is handled in-house, and the kitchen takes dietary needs seriously. Whether the menu calls for a full hot buffet or a lighter spread, the food arrives timed correctly and presented well. Rental packages are straightforward, and the team will walk you through layout options, table configurations, and any setup logistics you need.

Beyond private events, the Lodge supports Elks membership for Washington-area residents who want to connect with a national fraternal network rooted in patriotism, charitable giving, and community service. Youth programs, veterans' initiatives, and local scholarships are active parts of what this building stands for every single day.

"We had a bridal shower for my friend Mariah here. The staff was amazing, especially our coordinator, Michelle. Everything turned out beautifully and the food was great! I am gluten free, and they even made it a point to bring me a special meal since I could not eat what was being served. All around great experience, and I highly recommend having your event here."

"We had a business gathering here. Staff worked their butts off for us. Parking was an issue but we also had 500+ people in attendance. Great venue, has a secret little balcony area that could probably be utilized for weddings or the like, and a pretty good sound system too. Bar is too close to the entrance in my opinion so staff can't get from point to point as easily and the bathroom situation wasn't ideal (but there were a ton of people for us) but otherwise a great place all around."
